Reality Estate, Birmingham 2007

Reality Estate was a large-scale site-specific installation and performance event, which arose out of a three-year residency at the Curio City Shop in Birmingham by Friction arts in 2007. A celebration of an overlooked part of the city of Birmingham.

As part of the project Sofie designed the installation and performance elements to the piece. The five ways underpass installation – printed sleeping bodies on plastic and silk. Silk roses grew out of concrete paving stones and children played in empty streets.

The design of the performance elements created with director Mark Storor, photographs by Andrew Whittuck.
